Who we are

Nerd Nation LLC (“Nerd Nation,” “we”) operates nerdnation.us and retail stores in Shawnee, Kansas and Manhattan, Kansas. We buy and sell video games, trading cards, and collectibles, take trade-ins, and offer console repairs.

What we collect

Depending on how you use the store or website, we may collect:

• Name, email, mobile phone, and mailing or payout addresses
• Payout preferences (cash, store credit, Venmo or similar handles)
• Trade-in batches: items, conditions, photos, notes, offers, and accept/deny decisions
• Repair tickets: device details, serial numbers, waivers, quotes, and approvals
• Account login, guest save-for-later emails, wishlists, and giveaway entries
• Messages you send us (email, web forms, or replies to our texts)

How we get it

In store (paper ticket or digital intake), on nerdnation.us (sell, submit, account, repairs, “send label to phone”), or when staff submits a trade-in on your behalf after you identify yourself.

Why we use it

• Process trade-ins and repairs, pay you, and ship or receive items
• Send transactional notices you asked for (email and/or SMS)
• Security, fraud prevention, taxes, and legal requirements
• Optional marketing email (Brevo) when you create a website account (you can uncheck the box) — separate from SMS

Email

Transactional email (offers, magic links, labels, repair quotes) is sent so we can complete your transaction. Creating an account to sell or track a batch adds you to our marketing email list unless you uncheck the box. That preference is stored and exported to Brevo. Walk-in drop-offs that only give a phone number are not added. You can opt out in account settings or via unsubscribe in those emails.

Cookies and analytics

The website uses cookies needed for WordPress, Elementor, login, and checkout. We also use Google Analytics and the Meta (Facebook) pixel to understand site traffic and measure ads. You can block cookies in your browser and use Google/Meta ad settings to limit ads measurement.

Who we share with

We share information with service providers who process it for us — not as a sale of your mobile number:

• Website hosting and WordPress
• Twilio (SMS delivery)
• EasyPost and carriers (prepaid labels and tracking)
• Payment apps you choose (for example Venmo)
• Brevo, only if you opt into marketing email
• Pricing references such as PriceCharting / similar catalog tools
• In-store point of sale (Fulcrum) as needed to complete a buy or payout

Staff Discord channels are internal operations tools, not a customer marketing list.

Photos and item data

We use photos and condition notes to price trade-ins and repairs and to document deductions. They are kept with the submission record.

Accounts

Walk-in trade-ins may get a store account with a placeholder email so we can attach the batch. You can later add a real email and password to track offers online. You do not have to create a website login to drop off items.

Children

Our website and SMS program are not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

Retention and your choices

We keep transaction records as needed for payouts, taxes, and disputes. You can update contact details, reply STOP to SMS, opt out of marketing email, or email store@nerdnation.us to ask about your information.

U.S. state privacy notes

We do not sell your mobile number. Analytics and advertising cookies (Google, Meta) may be considered “sharing” for ads measurement. You can control those via your browser and each company’s opt-out tools.
