Authorization, not immediate ownership

When you mail items to Nerd Nation, you authorize us to receive them, possess them temporarily, inspect them, test them, determine condition, and apply applicable pricing or condition adjustments. Mailed items do not automatically become Nerd Nation property when we receive them.

When ownership transfers

Ownership of an item transfers to Nerd Nation when you accept the final or revised offer, or when deductions are automatically accepted after the 7-day review period. If you reject a deduction and request that item back, ownership of that item remains with you.

Deduction review

If inspection results in a deduction, we will show you the original offer, revised offer, deduction amount, reason, and any photos or evidence. You have 7 days from notification to Approve All or Review Individually. Approving a deduction that reduces an item to $0 forfeits that item to Nerd Nation. Requesting a return means that deduction is not accepted and that item is not purchased. We ship back only the items whose deductions you declined. We do not ship the rest of the submission back. Items you approved, and items with no deduction, stay with Nerd Nation.

If you do not respond within 7 days, all deductions are approved automatically, the submission proceeds to payout using the revised values, and any items reduced to $0 are forfeited.

Return shipping

Return shipping covers only the items whose deductions you declined. For your first deduction-related return, Nerd Nation pays that shipping. If you have repeated material condition discrepancies, we may deduct the actual return shipping cost from your submission payout. Only the actual carrier cost is deducted — we do not add a markup.

Minimum return amount

To avoid shipping extremely low-value items individually, returned games must represent at least $8 of original offer value and returned consoles at least $12. If the original offer of a returned item is below that minimum, the difference is deducted from your remaining payout. We use the original offer, not the post-deduction value.
